Willie Faye Ballenger Maney

Willie Faye Ballenger Maney, age 80, of Baldwin passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at Stephens County Hospital following an extended illness.

Born in Banks County on June 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Clint and Clifford Jackson Ballenger. Mrs. Maney was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and was a self-employed seamstress. She enjoyed farming and listening to gospel music. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Maney was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Maney; daughter, Doris Lewallen; son, David Maney; and brother, Paul Ballenger.

Surviving are daughter, Bonnie Davis of Baldwin; daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine and Junior Simmons of Toccoa; daughter and fiancée, Dianne Tyra and Kenny Mitchell of Homer; son-in-law, Darryl Lewallen of Clarkesville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Woodrow and Margaret Ballenger of Toccoa and Ralph and Janie Ballenger of Carnesville; sister-in-law, Jeanette Ballenger of Carnesville; grandchildren, Lisa Bearden of Cleveland, Angela Newbold of Toccoa, Amanda Slagle of Gainesville, Tony Lacey of Gainesville and Brittany Nava of Clarkesville; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are 2:00 pm Saturday, February 20, 2010, from Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Burrell and Rev. David Ledford officiating. Interment will follow in Rock Springs Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Luther Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, February 19th. The family is at the residence.
