Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Martha Lee Sheridan, age 86, of Jefferson, who passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2010. She was born on October 6, 1923 in Jackson County, a daughter to the late John and Eula Mae Whitehead Elrod. Mrs. Sheridan was a nurse and was a member of the Pendergrass Baptist Church. Her brother, Edward Elrod, sister and brother-in-law, Grace and H.M. Benson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include children, Reggie and Gwyn Sheridan, Buford, Donald and Kay Sheridan, Commerce; sister, Geraldine Elrod; brother, Bruce Elrod; sister-in-law, Annie Laura Elrod, all of Pendergrass; 5 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 2:00pm in the Pendergrass Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Wade officiating. The burial will follow in the Pendergrass Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, March 16th, from 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
