Ms. Vera Jean Walker, age 81, of Cleveland passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Walker was born on December 18, 1928 in Norcross to the late Amanda Janie Dalton and Claude Shirley. She was a Film Processor with Eastman Kodak. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford Avery Walker, Sr.; sisters, Catherine Johns, Florence Pruitt and Otis Christopher; brothers, John Shirley and Marvin Shirley.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Cindy & Douglas Whitfield, Doraville; daughter, Pat Larisey, Rome; sons and daughter-in-laws, Buddy & Trish Walker, Cleveland and David & Cindy Walker, Dahlonega; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday, April 15, 2010 from the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Emile Cote officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, just prior to the service.
