Curtis Marcus

Curtis Marcus, age 62 of Mt Airy, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born in Habersham County on September 21, 1947, he was the son of the late George Thomas, Jr. and Drotha Allen Marcus. Mr. Marcus was previously employed with WabCo Manufacturing and Fieldale Farms. He was a member of Clarkesville Church of God and enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Marcus.
Surviving are wife of 25 years, Winnie Loudermilk Marcus; sons and daughters-in-law, Jody & Susan Marcus of Eastanollee, Jeff & Donna Marcus of Lula and Granger & Amanda Clark of Mt. Airy; daughter and son-in-law, Amy & Jeremy Garmon of Mt. Airy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Jane & David Gosnell of Pelzer, SC, Ruth & Frankie Smith and June & John Dyer all of Demorest; also surviving are eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Clarkesville Church of God with Rev. Larry Carnes and Rev. Tim Tanner officiating. Interment will follow in Hazel Creek Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-9 pm on Saturday. The family is at the residence.
