Lois Chapman Heaton

Obituary Date: Friday, April 30, 2010
Funeral services for Lois Chapman Heaton, age 87, of the Hollywood Community, will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 3:00 PM from the Hollywood Baptist Church. Pastor Don Samples and Rev. Calvin Ward will officiate with burial to follow the service in the Church cemetery.

Mrs. Heaton passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 following a period of declining health.

Born in Habersham County on January 13, 1923 Mrs. Heaton was the daughter of the late Joseph Fields and Minnie Lois Chapman. After graduating from Clarkesville High School, Mrs. Heaton attended the Toccoa Falls Institute. Mrs. Heaton left Toccoa Falls to go to work after the attack on Pearl Harbor. She retired from Clarkesville Mill with 37 years of loyal service. Mrs. Heaton was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church and the American Rosie the Riveter Association. Some of her favorite hobbies included cake decorating and gardening. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Heaton is preceded in death by her husband Jackson Heaton.

Survivors include daughters Faye Thaxton of Colbert and Florence Heaton Hayes of Watkinsville, son Mark Heaton of Mableton, foster son Randall Denny of Hollywood, sisters Mary McDonald of Hollywood and Helen Davis of Columbus, two grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

The family will receive friends at Hillside Memorial Chapel on Sunday, May 2, 2010, from 4-9 PM and on Monday, May 3, 2010 from 12-2 PM.
