Dorothy Helton Howard

Mrs. Dorothy Helton Howard, age 66, passed away Tuesday, May 04, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mrs. Howard was born January 28, 1944 in Habersham County to the late Gus and Azzie Helton. She was a homemaker and a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church of Gainesville. She was preceded in death by her husband: Carl Howard; son: Randall Howard; grandson: Kevin Howard; brother: Terrell Helton and sister, Florence Freeman.

Survivors include, sons: James Howard, Dahlonega and Billy Howard, Gillsville; sons and daughters in law: Richard and Jane Howard , Gillsville and Larry and Patsy Howard, Maysville; daughters and sons in law: Glenda and Phillip Dispain, Murrayville, Donna and Richard Pass and Rachel and Edwin Strayhorn, Gainesville; grandchildren: Scotty and Kate Howard, Ray Howard, Sherry Howard, Eric Dispain, Keith Dispain, Patty Howard, Christy Howard, Jerry and Deanna Turpen and Amanda Turpen; great grandchild: Cheyenne Lee; brother Earl Helton, Cornelia; sister and brother in law: Teen and Denny Maxwell; sister: Ann Honeycutt.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, May 6, 2010 from the Barrett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Royce Winters, Rev. Bobby Jones and Mike Gaines officiating. Burial will follow in Philippi Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 9:00 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
