MaryLeen Evans

Mrs. MaryLeen Evans age 96, of Commerce, GA died Tuesday June 1, 2010 at Peachtree Village.

Mrs. Evans was born in Jackson County to the late, James N. and Mary Elizabeth Short Edwards. Mrs. Evans was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and was a Wal-Mart greeter. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband, Hoke S. Evans; grandchildren, Emily Hill Coker and Bill Perry.

Mrs. Evans is survived by her son, Harvey Evans of Del Rio, TN; daughters, Betty Waller and Phyllis Jones both of Commerce, GA; five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Friday 11:00 AM from Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Verlin Reece and Rev. Derry Oliver officiating with the interment following in Short Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night from 5-7 PM.
