Ruth James Baker

Ruth James Baker, age 93, of Cumming, Georgia passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010.

She was born February 23, 1917 to the late Tucker Dennis James and Ida Anders James

in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Ruth married Roy Lee Baker on May 27, 1933 he

Preceded her in death as did her two younger sisters Christine James Wertz and Edna James Ceccoli.

Ruth attended Emory University School of Nursing in Atlanta and became an LPN in

1945. She worked with Dr. George F. Bond in the Valley Clinic and Hospital in Bat cave, NC.

She was a private duty nurse for several years. In 1956 she started an Elder Care Home on Springdale Road in Atlanta. In September 1963 she was one of forty-one outstanding women from the Atlanta area to make the list of whoâ
