Dorothy Marie Samples Sheriff

Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Dorothy Marie Samples Sheriff, 70, of Commerce who died on Monday, June 14, 2010 at the BJC Hospital. Born in Forsythe County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Hoyt and Minerva Grizzle Samples and was the widow of Paul Sheriff. Mrs. Sheriff was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Adams and a brother, Jerry Samples. Survivors include children, Susan and Russell King of Commerce, Cindy and David Lunsford of Royston and Zenobia and George Moore of Westminster, SC; siblings, Lucy Brown of Homer, Elaine Magnuf of Gillsville, Inez Pethel of Cumming, Kenneth Samples of Cumming and Pat Samples of Gainesville; 7 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 3 PM from the Beaverdam Baptist Church with interment following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7-9 PM and at other times at the home of Susan and Russell King, 85 Blacks Creek Church Rd. in Commerce.
