Leland E. Charles

Mr. Leland E. Charles, age 96, of Cumming, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010. He was employed with the Forsyth County Road Department for over 18 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Charles, parents Arthur and Fanny Charles and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Samples Charles of Cumming; step daughters and step sons-in-law, Janice and Carl Popham, Ball Ground, Judy Popham of Nelson and Linda and Johnny Pugh of Dawsonville; daughters-in-law, Peggy Samples of Houschton and Ellen Samples of Cumming; son-in-law, O. J. White of Fairmont; sister-in-law, Macy Charles of Cumming; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.


Funeral services will be held, Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 3:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Brown and Rev. Ruel Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Friday from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am until hour of service.
