Ronald (Ronnie) Michael Poole

Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Mr. Ronald (Ronnie) Michael Poole, 70, and better known at "Cotton" of Gillsville, who passed away on Friday, July 2, 2010 at Athens Regional Hospital. Mr. Poole was born on June 19, 1940 in Gillsville and for many years ran "Cotton's Grocery." He was a member of Gillsville Baptist Church and was well known in the community. Survivors include his companion of over 25 years, Paulette Moody; her children, Mitchell and Sue Moody, Lorie and David Saylors, Kenny and Brandy Moody; a brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Swayne and Vivian Poole of Griffin, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Ronnie Poole will be conducted on Monday at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Gillsville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m.
