Mr. J.W. Arnold Jr.

Mr. J.W. Arnold Jr., age 87, of Nicholson, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010. Mr. Arnold was born on September 21, 1922 in Jefferson, a son of the late Mr. John W. Arnold Sr. and the late Mrs. Lillie Mae Nash Arnold. Mr. Arnold was the former owner of Athens Bible Book Store for 35 years and a member of the Redstone Methodist Church. Mr. Arnold was a Veteran of the U.S. Army/Air Force, serving during WWII.

Surviving are his wife, Charlotte Hale Arnold, daughter and son in law, DeMaris and David Hooper, grandson, Micah Hooper, all of Nicholson.


Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 2PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Mr. David Hooper officiating. The entombment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens, GA. Honored as pallbearers will be Kenneth Whelchel, Jeff Whelchel, Hopper Alexander, Homer Sims, Henry Asbury and Brian Duke. The visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
