Mr. Howard Thomas "Klondike" Bridges, 86 of Gainesville died Tuesday July 27, 2010 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Talmo, Georgia, Mr. Bridges was the son of the late Clifford and May Taylor Bridges. He had lived in Hall County for over 46 years. Mr. Bridges was retired from the USDA where he worked as an inspector. He was a graduate of the Martin Institute and served in the United States Air Force during World War II. Mr. Bridges was a former member of the V.F.W. and the Gainesville Elks Club, he was a member of the Paul E. Bolding Post #7 American Legion and the Riverbend Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law; Becky Fauscett Harrison and Jim Harrison, Gainesville/Hiawassee; grandchildren; Kathy Fauscett, Gainesville; Ginger Fauscett, Savannah; Nathan and Ginny Fauscett, Clermont; step grandchildren; Ben and Sherri Harrison, Dahlonega; Wendi and Mike Scheidegger, Dahlonega; Cam and Dru Harrison, Amelia Island, Florida; great grandchildren; Ansley Fauscett, Clermont and Sophie Scheidegger, Dahlonega; sister, Nora Tolbert, Jefferson; niece, Beth Carter, Baldwin; nephews; Fred Tolbert, Marietta; Jim Bridges, Tucson, Arizona.
Mr. Bridges is preceded in death by his wife; Virginia Bagwell Bridges.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday July 30, 2010 in the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. His nephew, Rev. Jim Bridges will officiate at the service.
Interment will follow in the Talmo Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home, Thursday July 29, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Emory Eye Clinic, c/o David Woolf, 1365-B Clifton Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30322.
