Dorothy Lillian McDaniel Dunbar

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Dorothy Lillian McDaniel Dunbar, age 78, of Athens, who passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2010. Mrs. Dunbar, born May 27, 1932 in Tennessee, was a daughter of the late, Herman McDaniel and the late, Ruby Elizabeth Kelly McDaniel. She was a homemaker and a member of the Gospel Tabernacle, Jefferson. Mrs. Dunbar was preceded in death by her first husband, James Lester McGill, Sr. and her husband, Alfred Dunbar.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol McGill of Commerce. Daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Anne and Gerald Cannon of Lawrenceville; Norma Jeanne and Ned Grice of Jefferson; Angela and Ronnie Nix of Pendergrass. Son and daughter-in-law, James and Brenda Gail McGill of Dacula. Sisters, Lenora Allen of Flowery Branch; Jewel Amerson of Winder. Brother, Carliss McDaniel of Corryington, TN. Eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 9, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Cannon and Rev. Todd Heil officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Haven Memory Gardens, Monroe. Serving as pallbearers will be Ned Appleby, Nathan McGill, Daniel McGill, Jason Cannon, Jason Embric, and Ronald Cannon.
