Roy Dewitt Sears

Ivie Funeral Home announces the death of Roy Dewitt Sears, 59, of Franklin Springs who died on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Born in Commerce, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Annie Sue Lockman Sears and was predeceased by a son, Dewitt Sears. Survivors include his children, Maranda Massey, Tammy Sears, Justin Sears and Lee Sears; siblings, Martha Dean, Betty Fisher, Sylvia McDonald, Pat Williamson, Joe Sears and Ray Sears. Eight grandchildren also survive. Mr. Sears was cremated and a memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday at 10 AM from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Duncan and Rev. David Strickland officiating.
