Mr. L.D. Whitmire

Obituary Date: Sunday, August 29, 2010
Mr. L.D. Whitmire, 72 of Clarks Bridge Road, Gainesville went to be with the lord on Saturday August 28, 2010.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Whitmire was the son of the late M.D. and Rena Shuler Whitmire. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Paul E. Bolding Post#7 American Legion. Mr. Whitmire was the owner/operator of L.D. Whitmire Wrecker Service. He was a member of the Dewberry Baptist Church #1.

Survivors include his sisters and brothers-in-law; Peggy and Lewis Spain, Gainesville; Rachel and Junior Helton, Gainesville; nieces and nephews, Dena and Larry Grizzle, Mickey Spain, Shelley and Keith Worden, Jeff and Amy Helton, Jason and Stacy Helton, all of Gainesville; great nieces and nephews; Amy Grizzle, Alesha and Jeremy Nix, Alissa Helton, Cooper Helton, Sara Rachel Helton, Holly Worden and Geoffery Ledford, all of Gainesville. Special Friend, Ray Loggins, Gainesville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday August 31, 2010 at the Dewberry Baptist Church #1 with the Rev. Henry Loggins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends and the Little & Davenport Funeral Home, Monday August 30, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Dewberry Baptist Church #1 Building Fund, 4616 Clarks Bridge Road, Gainesville, Ga. 30506.
