Lucile "Gracie" Jackson

Evans Funeral Home announces the death Miss Lucile "Gracie" Jackson, age 101, of Jefferson, who passed away on September 14, 2010. Miss Jackson was born on July 9, 1909 in Jefferson, GA, a daughter to the late Herschel and Jesse Mae Dukes Jackson. Miss Jackson was a Homemaker and member of the Hurricane Grove Baptist Church. Miss Jackson was preceded in death by her siblings, Donald Jackson, Lovett Jackson, Bert T. Jackson and Lillie Mae Hunter.

Survivors include her nephew, William T. Hunter, Fayetteville, nieces, Ann Burley, Jefferson, Bessie Smith, Commerce, Mamie Joyce Hill, Jefferson, a host of Great Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 1:00pm in the Sardis Presbyterian Church with Rev. Roger Cooper officiating. The body will lie in state from 10am -1pm, in the Church, before the service. The interment will follow in the Hurricane Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Friday from 8-5pm at the funeral home.
