Vera Jane LaCount King

Vera Jane LaCount King, age 88 of Cornelia, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010, at a private healthcare facility following an extended illness.

Born in Habersham County on November 15, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Callie Loudermilk LaCount. Mrs. King was a member of Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and church member. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sons, Roger King and Donald King, sisters, Ruth Dyer, Lizzie Mae Whitworth, Mary Lee Robertson, Valree Ivie and Jewell LaCount and brothers, Robert LaCount, Arthur LaCount, Carl LaCount, Joe LaCount and George LaCount.
Surviving are husband of 71 years, Rev. Neil King of Cornelia; daughters and son-in-laws, Becky & George Hunt of Gray and Pam & Darren Wilson of Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy & Joy King of Mt. Airy; daughter-in-law, Ruth Cooper of Oawood; brother, Johnny LaCount of Clarkesville; grandchildren, Vince King, Tonya King, Jeffrey King, Christy Myers, Lori Pearson, Neil King, Jordan Shoemaker, Adrienne Alligood, Tracey Hunt, Tara LaBranche and Nicole Hodges and 20 great grandchildren.

Funeral services are 11:00 am Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Good News Baptist Church with George Hunt, Rev. Jack Hicks and Neil King officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Jimmy King officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Monday. The family is at the residence.
