Dorothy Worley Bryson

Dorothy Worley Bryson, age 81 of Demorest, passed away Monday, September 27, 2010, at her residence following an extended illness.

Born in Rabun County on December 10, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Grace Holcomb Worley. Mrs. Bryson was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, cooking, listening to gospel music and doing word searches. Mrs. Bryson especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bryson was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Hershel Odell Bryson; daughter, Frances Wigley; brothers, Hugh, Don and Clarence Worley; two grandchildren.

Surviving are daughter, Marie Eller of Toccoa; daughter & son-in-law, Linda and Randy Carnes of Turnerville; sons and daughters-in-law, Roy Lee and Drucilla Bryson of Mt. Airy, Wayne and Brenda Bryson of Ramseur, NC and Clarence and Rita Bryson of Demorest; brothers, J.L. Worley of Rochester Hills, MI, Larry Worley of Monticello, GA and Calvin Worley of Covington, GA; sisters, Greta Hopkins of Lawrenceville and Katherine Lanford of Covington, GA; 11 grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren; several sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services are 11:00 am Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Donald Fuller, Rev. Keith Allison and Rev. Truitt Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Crescent Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Tuesday.
