Roy E. Clark

Mr. Roy E. Clark, 91 of Flowery Branch died Friday October 1, 2010.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Clark was born February 9, 1919 to the late Ralph J., Sr. and Naomi Beard Clark. He worked for 33 years at the Owen-Osborne Hosiery Mills and later retired from Wrigley Manufacturing Company. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of the Lanier-Yaarb Shriners and the Flowery Branch Masonic Lodge# 212 F & AM, and the Flowery Branch Baptist Church. Mr. Clark served on the Flowery Branch City Council for a number of years. He is preceded in death by his wives, Sylvia Hughes Clark and Alice Williams Clark.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law; Janice Clark Bryans and Allen Bryans, Sr., Flowery Branch; grandsons, Allen Bryans, Jr., Flowery Branch and Shannon Bryans, Gainesville; great grandchildren; Misti Dawn Bryans, Dayton Dowdy, Halley Dowdy, Parker England, Megan Morgan, John Tyler England, Nicholas England, and Charlie England; sister, Dorothy Clark Chadwick, Flowery Branch; special friend and companion, Lorene Clark and a number of neices and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday October 4, 2010 in the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. David L. Smith, the Rev. Emerson Ross and Dale Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery with full masonic graveside rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday October 3, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers th family has asked that memorial contributions be made to United Hospice, 1626 Jeurgens Ct.,Norcross, Ga. 30093 or a charity of ones choice.

Roy loved his many friends and was a friend to all who new him.

A special "Thank you" to the staff at Brookside Assisted Living in Buford, Ga. where he resided for 4 and 1/2 years, United Hospice a special "Thank you", to the staff of Open Arms and Loving Care private caregivers under the management of Lakesha Adams and Marsha Thompson.
