Morris "Chick" Rider

Morris "Chick" Rider, 66, of Dawsonville died Saturday October 2, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health.

Born September 24, 1944 to the late O. C. "Red" and Geraldine Rider, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. For many years he was a cook at the Taste of Country and Burger and Shakes restaurants. Mr. Rider was an avid BINGO player and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife, Patsy "Miss Chick" Rider, Dawsonville; children, Ellen and Jeff Mooney, Lawrenceville, Willie and Betty Rider, Cumming, Molly and James Lee, Dawsonville, Roxanne Glaze, Dawsonville, Tim and Donna Rider, Demorest, Tim and Lindsay White, Dawsonville; sister and brother in law, Rose Mary and Harold Bottoms, Cumming; brothers, Tommy Rider, Dawsonville, Hank Rider, Dahlonega; 25 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Monday October 4, 2010 at 3 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ronnie Fields, Rev. Harold Bottoms and Rev. Jason Moon will officiate. Interment will follow in the Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 3:30 Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
