William K. "Kennie" Martin

William K. "Kennie" Martin, age 92 of Alto, passed away Tuesday, October 05, 2010, at Habersham County Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born in Habersham County on July 05, 1918, he was the son of the late Robert Andrew and Amer Shubert Martin. Mr. Martin was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed golfing and NASCAR. He was retired from the State Hospital System as a truck driver. In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was also preceded in death by sisters, Mary Carter, Inez Martin, Irene Martin; brother, Jewell Martin.
Surviving are wife of 73 years, Doreen Reems Martin of Alto; daughter, Sally Annette Martin Swann Martin of Rome; brother, Robert Andrew Martin, Jr. of Birmingham AL; granddaughter, Chaquita Swann of Rome and her fiancée Jimmy Crawford of Cedartown.
Graveside services are 2:00 pm Sunday, October 10, 2010, at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Chaquita Swann officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12-1:40 pm on Sunday.
