Harold P. Wooten

Obituary Date: Monday, October 18, 2010
Harold P. Wooten of Givens Estate, Asheville, NC, and formerly of Dahlonega, GA, died Monday October 18, 2010 at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center.

A native of East Point, Georgia, he was the son of the late Richard Porter Wooten and Iva Pair Wooten. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Porter Wooten and by one sister, Rubye Mauriocourt.

Harold retired as Chief Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force after previously serving in the US Marine Corps. During his military career he served in World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam Conflict. He received many military commendations during his career. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and was also a member of Skyline United Methodist Church.

Surviving is his wife, Montine Seabolt Wooten; two sons, Richard M. Wooten and his wife, Toni, of Asheville and Scott A. Wooten and his wife, Mary, of Carlton, GA; two granddaughters, Jennifer Ierardi and Alexandra Wooten; and one step-grandson, Duncan Mabry.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Dahlonega United Methodist Church in Dahlonega, GA.

Military honors will be provided at Mount Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega.
