James M. Morgan

Reverend James M. Morgan, age 93, of Gainesville, GA passed away on Wednesday, November 03, 2010.

Reverend Morgan served in the Army in World War II until November, 1945. He then attended and graduated from East Texas Baptist College, and New Orleans Baptist Seminary. He served as a Baptist minister for 62 years. He was a lifetime member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Gainesville.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ruby Mae Morgan. Survivors include his sons and daughter in laws, Jerry and Brenda Morgan of Gainesville; James and Miriam Morgan of Spartanburg, S.C.; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Gainesville with Rev. Billy King and Dr. Gerald Atkins officiating, burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Spartanburg, S.C.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Little and Davenport funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Building Fund.
