Mrs. Nevelyn Griffin

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Nevelyn Griffin, age 92 of Cleveland. Mrs. Griffin passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010 at a private nursing home following a period of declining health.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday November 16, 2010 from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with the Rev. Leland Bagwell Rev. Bill McCoy and Rev. Emory Brachman officiating. Interment will follow in Gateway Memory Park.

Mrs. Griffin was born on April 29, 1918 to the late P.W. Prohl and Lonnie Simmons Prohl. She was a graduate of Huntington College in Montgomery, Alabama. In 1942, she married the late Warren Griffin. In 1952, she and Warren moved to White County where they opened the Griffin Drug Co. which they ran until they retired in the mid seventies.Mrs. Giffin was a longtime member of the Cleveland United Methodist Church where she was very active until such time as her health began to fail.

Survivors include her daughter and son in law , Kay and Henry Garrett, Cumming as well as her special friends Rev. Leland and Alice Bagwell and families.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12;00 Noon until the funeral hour.

It was Mrs. Griffin's request that flowers be omitted and donations be made to the Cleveland United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1226, Cleveland, Georgia 30528
