Robert Thomas Shepherd

Mr. Robert Thomas Shepherd, age 75, of Flowery Branch, Georgia passed away on Friday, December 3rd, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Mrs. Pente C. Shepherd, Flowery Branch, Georgia; daughters and son-in-law Dodie S. Burns, Crabapple, GA, Nori and Mike Tilley, Marietta, GA, and Loni Shepherd, Atlanta, GA; sons and daughters-in-law Kip and Mary Shepherd, Suwannee, GA and Rob and Jenny Shepherd, Cumming, GA; seven wonderful grandchildren and his nephew, Mark Shepherd, Bellaire, OH.

Mr. Shepherd was born September 2, 1935 in Bellaire, Ohio. He was a Graduate of Ohio State University. He received a Master's Degree in Journalism from Ohio University in Athens, OH and received a Master's Degree in Public Affairs from Georgia State University. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a retired Director of Economic Development for Fulton County in Atlanta, GA after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and played as well as coached on the basketball team for 20+ years. Shep had a love of sports, playing tennis three times a week and was a lifelong ALTA champion. He always loved to cook for gatherings of family and friends. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch, GA.

Prayer service is Thursday, December 9th at 7:00pm at Memorial Park South Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 11:00am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch, GA.
