Martha Pope

Martha Pope, 62, of Dawsonville died Monday December 27, 2010.

Born May 23, 1948 in Forsyth County to the late Ford and Rosie Lee Holtzclaw, she had lived in Dawson County for the past 22 years. A homemaker at her death, for many years she and her husband owned and operated a drywall business. She attended Nelson Congregational Holiness Church and was also preceded in death by a sister, Lillie Rebeccah Holtzclaw.

Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Larry Pope, Dawsonville; children, Tommy and Anita Pope, Warsaw, FL, Donna and Tim Sanders, Dawsonville, Delane and Jimmy Andrews, Canton, Connie and Preston Collett, Dawsonville; Tequila Martinez, Dawsonville, Jay Pope, Dawsonville, Jeff Pope, Dawsonville Eric Pope, Dawsonville, Christina Pope, Dawsonville; sister, Betty Castleberry, Canton; brothers and sister in law, Dennis Holtzclaw, Jacksonville, FL, Jimmy and Pamela Holtzclaw, Cumming; 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday December 30, 2010 at 2 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Thomas Rudasill and Rev. Tony Holtzclaw will officiate. Interment will follow in Macedonia Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends after 3:30 Wednesday at the funeral home.
