Thomas Wyatt Davidson

Funeral services for Thomas Wyatt Davidson, age 80, of Clarkesville, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 16, 2011 from the Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville. Rev. Austin Ivester, Rev. Virgil Vickers, and Rev. W. A. Trotman will officiate with interment to follow the service at Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Davidson passed away Friday, January 14, 2011 following a period of declining health.

Born April 3, 1930, Mr. Davidson was the son of the late Dolph C. and Cleo Dawkins Davidson. Mr. Davidson was retired from the United States Air Force where he served in Vietnam. After retirement Mr. Davidson went back to work for the Habersham County Tax Assessors office where he had 21 years of service. Mr. Davidson was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Hazel I. Davidson, son Michael Davidson, and sisters Dorothy D. Hardman and Ruth Ivester.

Survivors include daughter and son in law Pam and Rick Whiting of Mt. Airy, son and daughter in law Gary and Pauline Davidson of Demorest, brother Doug C. Davidson of Turnerville, grandchildren Wendy M. Turner, Julie A. Wilkinson, and Noah Davidson, as well as four great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 6-9 PM.
