Guy Burdell McClure, Jr.

Guy Burdell McClure, Jr. passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He was 95 years old.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2011, in the Chapel of First Baptist Church, Green Street, Gainesville, GA. Reverend Dr. Bill Coates and Reverend Bruce Fields will officiate.

Guy grew up in Fairborn, GA. He was commissioned into the U.S. Army by Georgia Tech and was a veteran of WWII. After the war he remained in the Active Army Reserves for thirteen years. He retired from Eastern Airlines as a Flight Operations Supervisor with 38 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Jo, and daughters and sons-in-law Gail and Terry Entrekin, Suzanne and Marshall Weaver, daughter Sandra McClure, and son and daughter-in-law Frank and Leslie Johnson. Guy is also survived by six grandchildren, Teri, Sonya, Jimmy, Angela, Natalie and Brandon, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynda McClure Weaver.
