Billy Crane

Billy Crane, 83, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday January 29, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born October 7, 1927 to the late Dock, Sr. and Annie Crane, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Mr. Crane owned and operated Crane Auto Parts and attended Mill Creek Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Fanabell Stephens and Mardell Greenway.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Mildred Crane, Dawsonville; son and daughter in law, Marcus and Lynda Crane, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Mark and Amanda Crane, Ashely and Johnny Trammell, Dawsonville; great grandchildren, Breanna Crane, Braden Crane, Isabella Trammell, Tanner Trammell, Dawsonville; sisters and brothers in law, Marell and Lane Bailey, Dawsonville, Monnie Chester, Royston, Vera Mae and Marvin Davis, Gainesville, Annette Anderson, Jasper, Frances and Charlie Baughcum, Lavonia; brothers and sisters in law, Carl Dean and Marjorie Crane, Dawsonville, Eugene and Ruby Crane, Duluth, Dock Crane, Jr. and Anita Womack, Dawsonville, Loy "Sonny Man" and Linda Crane, Dawsonville; special caregiver, Debra Banta, and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Monday January 31, 2011 at 2 o'clock at Mill Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Rodney Pilcher, Rev. Cecil Reeves and Rev. Lee Ayers will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
