Charles Riley Everhart

Mr. Charles Riley Everhart, age 82, of Monroe, passed away on Monday January 31, 2011 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday February 5, 2011 at Wards Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville, Georgia. Interment will follow in Gillsville Cemetery in Gillsville, Georgia.

Mr. Everhart was born on June 7, 1928, in Kings Mountain NC, a son of the late Albert Gale Everhart and Cora May Colbert Everhart. He was a retired self-employed drywall contractor. He was also a United States World War II Navy Veteran.

Survivors include two sons, Chuck Everhart and wife, Sherry, of Waxhaw, Charles Everhart, Jr. and wife, Bonnie, of Kew Gardens, New York; one daughter, Wanda Shuff and Robbie Wooten of Monroe; six grandsons, Johnathan Everhart of Wilmington, Christopher Starnes of Lancaster, South Carolina, Jeffrey Stegall and wife, Kristina, of Monroe; four granddaughters, Lauren Everhart of New York, New York, Carly Everhart of Brooklyn, New York, Katherine Everhart of Nashville, Tennessee, Crystal Everhart of Tega Cay, South Carolina; three great-grandsons, Owen Stegall, Justin Stegall, and Aden Stegall, all of Monroe.

He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Allen Everhart in 2000.

The family will receive friends Friday February 4, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Wards Funeral Home.
