Jimmy Jordan

Jimmy Jordan, age 75, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2011, at Landmark Hospital, Athens, Georgia.

Mr. Jordan was born on September 20, 1935, in Banks County, Georgia, to the late Hershel H. and Emma Bell Crocker Jordan. He was a proud United States Army veteran. Mr. Jordan was a retired employee of Ethicon with 20 years of service and a farmer. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Lula, Georgia.

Survivors include his companion, Sandy Segars, Alto, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanene and Phillip Escover, Winder, GA and Lisa and Douglas Collins, Gainesville, GA; sister, Lurleen Hosch, Lula, GA; 4 grandchildren, Courtney Escover, Winder, GA, Jordan Collins, Copelan Collins, and Cameron Collins, all of Gainesville, GA; and one niece, one nephew, and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2011, at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Swayne Cochran and Rev. David Harbin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Shane Moore officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
