Kenneth A. Williams

Obituary Date: Sunday, February 27, 2011
Kenneth A. Williams, 64, went home to be with his Lord on February 27, 2011. He passed away doing one of his favorite things, fishing. Dad was born in Cumming, on June 26, 1946. He attended school at Truett McConnell College and later Lanier Tech. He served two years in the Vietnam War where he was a helicopter repairman and an ambulance driver. He received a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 device, and a Sharpshooter Badge for the M-14 Rifle and M-16 Rifle. He was married to Deborah McDougald Williams for 31 loved filled years. Dad retired from Lockheed Martin in 2005 after 33 years of service as a crane operator.



Dad was a lifelong member of Corinth Baptist Church. He was also an avid collector of pocket knives. He was known at Lockheed as Willy. Dad was a very honest man, and was probably best known for his big heart.



Kenneth is survived by his wife Deborah Williams, son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Sundae Williams, daughter, Joy Williams, and son, Matthew Williams, brothers and sisters-in-law, Morris & Sandra Williams, Ricky and Chris Williams; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ruth and Olen Castleberry, brother-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Tammy and Travis Bradley, Alice and Cloyce Willard, Terry McDougald and many nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents H.C. & Nellie Kate Williams, brother Norris Williams, daughter Heather Williams, and grandson Caleb Williams all of Cumming.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday , March 2, 2011 at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Pruitt, Rev. Cecil Pruitt and Rev. Clark Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1:00
