Harry Glenn "Pete" Hyatt

Harry Glenn "Pete" Hyatt, age 72, of Gainesville, GA passed away Monday, February 28, 2011 at Peachtree Christian Hospice following an extended illness.

Funeral services are schedule for Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Memorial Park South Cemetery. Pastor Ken Joslin will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, March 4, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Hyatt was born in Atlanta on March 5, 1938 to the late Fred T. Hyatt and Geraldine Dunagan Foster. Mr. Hyatt served in the US Air Force for 4 years. Pete bowled with the Sunday Night Mixed, Piedmont Men and Gainesville 48 bowling leagues for the past 20 years. He was a member of Life Church. He was also the owner and operator of Wholesale Carpets in Gainesville for 33 years. Pete was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, who had numerous friends including his bowling family that he loved dearly. Mr. Hyatt was preceded in death by his brothers, Allen and Ed Hyatt.

Mr. Hyatt is survived by his wife of 50 1/2 years, Jerilyn Hyatt of Gainesville, Daughter, Debbie Hyatt Barber (Marty Pulliam) of Statham, GA, daughter, Susan McCannon Gibson of Watkinsville, GA, son, Rusty Hyatt of Gainesville, GA, grandchildren, Brandi Hyatt ( Roger Gowan), Josh Hyatt, Stephanie Barber, Seth McCannon, Caleb McCannon, Macie McCannon, great-grandchildren, Shylyn Richardson, Blake Mincey, and Hayden Free Hyatt, brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Betty Ann Hyatt of Griffin, GA, brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Norma Hyatt of Buford, GA, sister, Dot Collier of Woodstock, GA, sister and brother-in-law, June and Buford Chandler of Fayetteville, sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Mickie Woods of Niles, MI, sister, Ann Ingle of Warner Robbins, GA, brother, Ted Hyatt of Stone Moutain, GA.
