Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Mary Lorene McCoy, 90, of Cleveland. Mrs. McCoy passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011, at her residence following a period of declining health.

Born in White County on Sept. 11, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Indie Jane Nix. She also was preceded in death by her husband, John McCoy; daughter, Barbara Loggins.son Cecil McCoy, brothers Everett Harkins, Loyd Harkins and Howard Harkins

She was a lifelong resident of White County and a seamstress. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Carlton and Pat McCoy and Kenneth and Jane McCoy, all of Purvis, Miss.; daughters and sons in law Doris and Tony Wilbanks of Gainesville and Beverly and Clinton Pitts of Cleveland; brother, Vernon Harkins of Cody, Wyo.; sister, Evelyn Quackenbush of Tucker; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 25, at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wilbur Ridings and Brian Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Flowers will be acknowledged or memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 743 Spring St., Gainesville, Georgia 30501-9841

The family will receive friends at Alexander Funeral Home, 2721 Hwy. 129 S., Cleveland, from 5-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 23-24.
