Enoch Dean Stephens

Enoch Dean Stephens, born September 28, 1933 in Gainesville, GA went home to be with the Lord and his beloved wife of 50 years, Allene on May 4, 2011.

Dean was 77 years young and resided in Woodbury, GA for more than 25 years. He was surrounded by his ever vigilant and loving family. A son, Greg Stephens and his wife LaLonnie from Coco Beach, FL, a daughter, Joy Stephens Seiler and her husband Robert from Jacksonville, FL. Dean's sister, HuAnn Worley from Millen, GA remained by his side and was a continuous support to him and his family until his passing. His grandchildren, their spouses and great-grandchildren were a constant support and source of happiness for him.

He is survived by his son, daughter, a sister, five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren with another one on the way; a brother-in-law Horace and his wife Freda Justus who have been a source of inspiration and comfort during this hardship. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Zephene Giles, and a brother-in-law Hershel and Ann Justus of AZ.

Dean graduated from Piedmont College in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge in 1962. Dean became a school teacher and taught English Literature to high school students for more than 25 years. Dean also loved music and was an accomplished pianist as well and singing. He played for his church for many years. He enjoyed playing tennis and had won several tournaments in the past. Dean was an avid gardener and maintained his home and garden in Woodbury until his passing. He will be terribly missed.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 2 PM to 3 PM at Mountain Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow visitation at 3 PM with Rev. Larry Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Grove Cemetery.
