William Wiley Jones

William Wiley Jones, age 74, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2011, after an extended illness.



Mr. Jones was born on April 3, 1937, in Banks County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Wiley G. and Hazel Coley Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joey Jones; his brother, Wilbern Jones; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dewey and Hazel Brown. Mr. Jones was a proud United States Army veteran. He was a retired supervisor with Tugalo Construction Company, Asphalt Division, with 28 years of service. William attended Crossroads Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved car racing, and loved baseball.



Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Frances Brown Jones, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Terry Masters and Mary and Billy Bell, both of Alto, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Glori Jones, Alto, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Paralee and Howard Anderson, Oakwood, GA and Glenda and J.C. Hix, Alto, GA; grandchildren, Haley King and her husband, Walter, Jake Masters, Mariah and Trevor Bell, Addison and Joey Jones, Preston and Thomas Savage, and Deann and Samantha Stewart; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Christian King, Marley Masters, Aubrey Brown, and Maci Williams; 13 sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.



Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2011, at Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Shore and Rev. Johnny Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Junior Jones officiating.



The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011, and from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
