Odette Rena Adams

Obituary Date: Sunday, June 5, 2011
Ms. Odette Rena Adams, age 74, of Cumming, GA, passed peacefully at her home on June 4, 2011, surrounded by her family and friends, joining in Heaven her Savior and loved ones who preceded her in death: her beloved brother, Jim Adamson; mother and father, James and Delvie Adamson; brothers, Wayne and Hugh Adamson and sister Mirriam Horsely.

Survivors include her children, Fred Adams Jr, Paige Bettis (Stan), James Adams (DebiSue), Merrie Jackson (Shawn), all of Cumming, GA. Sisters, Myrtle Crumbley, Mavis Crowe; brother, Buck Adamson; grandchildren, Emily and Sarah Adams, Hanna, Adam, and Addison Bettis, Blake Adams ( Katy), Ashley Adams Sanford (Jamie), Chelsea Mulvenna, Kahner, Riley, and Parker Jackson; great grandchild, Carter Adams; Daughter in law, Michelle Gerth.

A graduate of Georgia State University and Lanier Technical College, Odette excelled in her work as an Executive Secretary, but her true love was being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A member of Midway United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, GA, she spent her life as God's obedient servant giving unconditional love and studying the word of God, seeking the deeper meanings in the scriptures. Never losing the gift of seeing things through the eyes of a child, all that knew her loved her and were drawn to her. Few things in life could equal a simple conversation with" Nano". Odette was always there for a kind word and a smile. She endured the severe hardships at the end of her earthly journey with unwavering faith, good humor and grace. We all know in our hearts that a unique flower will now bloom forever in Heaven. We all miss her terribly, but rejoice that she is now home. The family would like to thank all the caregivers and medical professionals for all the loving support they provided this wonderful woman.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 6th, at Midway United Methodist Church, at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Jammie Fortner presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory, 210 Ingram Ave. Cumming, GA. on Sunday, June 5th, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and Monday, June 6th, from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
