Evie Marie Garrett Adams

Evie Marie Garrett Adams, age 88 of Sautee-Nacoochee passed away Monday June 20, 2011 at Habersham Home East following an extended illness.

Mrs. Adams was born February 8, 1923 in Hiawassee to late Jimmy and Vassie Taylor Garrett. Mrs. Adams was a homemaker and a member of Union Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Verner Adams, brother, Calvin Garrett.

Survivors include her daughter, Patsy Adams, Sautee; sisters Kate Chastain, Cleveland; Lorain Hallford, Clarkesville; Sue Shelnut, Cleveland; Ginger Brown, Cleveland; brothers, Vaughn Garrett, Cleveland; Bud Garrett, Cleveland; sister-in-law, Gladys Vonzie Garrett, Cleveland; cargivers, Sharon Garrett, Patricia (Trish) Brown, Janie Dalton, Teresa Waddell.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00AM Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. George Fortner, the Rev. Dave Fortner, and the Rev. Wayne Turk will officiate. Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
