Roger Franklin Vincent, Jr.

Roger Franklin Vincent, Jr., age 96 of Gainesville, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at his residence following a brief illness.

Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 4:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church. Reverend Paul Evans and Dr. Matt McGowan will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 25, 2011 after the service in the Sweetenburg Hall of the Church.

Mr. Vincent was born December 28, 1914 in Pocomoke City, Maryland to the late Roger Franklin Vincent, Sr. and Leta Bonneville Vincent. He retired from Babcock & Wilcox in Pennsylvania, as a Senior Accountant with 29 years of service. Roger received an Associate Degree at Johns-Hopkins University and was a member and Deacon of First Presbyterian Church. He attended all Bible Studies at First Presbyterian, was a member of Chancellor Choir, The Barber Shop Quartet and the Primetime Singers. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Loduth Elizabeth Kubler Vincent, four brothers, William, James, Glenn and Robert Vincent, two sisters, Glenna Lunn and Geraldine Vincent, daughter, Valerie Linden and grandson, Stevie Snare.

Mr. Vincent is survived by his daughter, Debi Gorrell of Gainesville, daughters & sons-in-laws, Jean Lelani & Jerry Snare of Medicine Park, OK and Victoria "Viki" & Fred Zajac of Baden, Pennsylvania, brother & sister-in-law, Carroll & Margie Vincent of Valrico, Florida, grandson & wife, Charles Howard "Charlie" & Tabitha Gorrell, III of Murrayville, granddaughter & fiancé, Lisa Marie Gorrell & Scottie Flippen of Gainesville, grandson & fiancé, Michael Vincent Gorrell & Paula Rankin of Gainesville, grandsons, John Zajac and Ed Zajac both of Pennsylvania, granddaughters, Lindsey Zajac of Pennsylvania, Jill Linden and Amy Linden both of Virginia, granddaughter & husband, Lori & Jerry George, grandsons & wives, Ray & Barbie Snare and Jerry Jr. & Paula Snare all of Oklahoma, 7 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
