Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00am Wednesday June 29, 2011 in the Ward's Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. Van Buren "V.B." Sanders Jr. age 85, of Gainesville. The Rev. Raymond Latty will officiate. Interment will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00pm to 9:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Sanders passed away Sunday June 26, 2011
Mr. Sanders was born October 4, 1925 in Hall County to the late Van Buren Sanders and Zilpha Strickland Sanders. He was the last surviving member of his family and had worked for Con-Agra. He was preceded in death by his Infant Sister and Sister Mae Sanders, Brothers, Verner, Cecil, Dean, Lester and Roy, and good friend Mitch Hunsucker.
V.B. lived with his niece and her husband Betty Sanders Burnett and Wilburn Burnett the last few years of his life. He is also survived by his Nephew, Doug Sanders, and Niece, Bonnie Carroll and several other nieces and nephews. V.B. was also survived by his family at Community Bank and Trust, Brooke Arrowood, Sharon Barrett, Patty Garrison and Jessica Siskey. Also his good friend Ginger Buffington Folger and J.B. Hamilton.
