Edwin Jackie (Jack) Holbrook

Edwin Jackie (Jack) Holbrook, 77, of Cumming, Ga. passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011, after a brief battle with lung cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ruth McGee Holbrook; children, Jodi Smith of Cumming, Joni and Tony Stowe of Cumming, and Traci & Lori Holbrook of Dawsonville; 4 grandchildren, Natalie and Kyle Stowe, Darrell Smith and Jason Holbrook; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He served in the US Army as an MP in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He was a past member of the Lions Club, Kiwanis, Cumming Jaycees and the Cumming Shriners.
Jackie was a well-known figure in the community and owned several businesses in the past including Holbrook Hardware, Jack's Restaurant & Holbrook Food Store. He was also involved in Western Steer Steakhouses in Georgia and Tenn. He has worked the last 22 years at Andean Chevrolet. His passion was his garden, flowers, his children and grandchildren.
Arrangements will be made by Ingram Funeral Home. Receiving friends and family Friday, July 8th from 6:00 p until 9:00 pm, Saturday, July 9th from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Sunday viewing up until time of funeral service at 2:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. Interment following at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dawson or Forsyth County Foster Care Association.
