Roger Carthern

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Roger Goldman Carthern, age 64, of Jefferson, went to be with the Lord on July 16, 2011, after an extended illness. Mr. Carthern was born in Jackson County, a son to the late Roger Goldman Carthern and the late Mazie Hutchins Cathern. Mr. Carthern was a Truck Driver and was a member of the Brockton Road Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Tony Randall Carthern.

Survivors include his wife Brenda Carthern, Jefferson, children and their spouses, Andy and Deborah Carthern, of Jefferson, Ga., Melissa and Jeremy Fowler of Jefferson, Ga., Angie and David Garrett of Diamond Hill, Ga., Regina Parker of Danielsville, Ga., grandchildren, Isabella, Cosmo, Danny, Nicole, Ryan, Taylor, Chase, Ansley, Logan, Cameron and Ciley and a very special friend, Pammy.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 11am in the Brockton Road Baptist Church with Rev. Karl Mealor and Rev. Jesse Mealor officiating. The burial will follow in the Jackson Memorial Park with Darrell Allen, Currie Dalton, Dean Carthern, Chris Motes, Tom King, Dean Love and Wayman Hollis honored as 0pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6-9pm at the funeral home.
