Martha Savannah Sosebee Allen

Funeral services for Martha Savannah Sosebee Allen, age 89, of Clarkesville, will be held on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Bill Trotter and Rev. Austin Kelly will officiate with interment to follow the service in Cool Springs Methodist Cemetery.

Mrs. Allen died July 22, 2011 at Habersham Home East.

Born in Habersham County on June 22, 1922, Mrs. Allen was the daughter of the late Henry and Katie Simmons Sosebee. She was a homemaker and a member of Cool Springs Methodist Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Allen is preceded in death by her husband Frank Thompson Allen, daughters Dorothy Jean Burton and Brenda Lee Sweeten, and son Jimmy Lee Allen.

Survivors include daughters Elaine Burton of Clarkesville, Evelyn Sweeten of Demorest and Rita Addis of Clarkesville, sons in law Randy Addis of Clarkesville, Journey Burton of Clarkesville, Robert Burton of Clarkesville, and Mickey Sweeten of Clarkesville, son Phillip Allen of Demorest, daughter in law Stevie Allen of Clarkesville, brother Boyd Sosebee of Gainesville, sister Sylvia Trusty of Clarkesville, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, and special friends Jerry Addis of Clarkesville, Debbie G. Burton of Clarkesville, and Joyce Wheeler of Demorest.

Visiting hours will be Sunday, July 24, 2011 from 2 - 4 PM and from 6 - 8 PM.
