Doris Smith Ricketson

Doris Smith Ricketson, age 83, of Cornelia, GA, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 at her residence.
Born in Smithville, TX on August 18, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Henry Gordon and Allie Catchings Smith. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, William J. Ricketson, Sr. Mrs. Ricketson was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include sons, William J. Ricketson, Jr. of Cornelia and Michael E. Ricketson of Cornelia; daughter, Kathleen Ricketson of Cornelia; three grandsons, Barclay Hinson, Eric Siefkes, and Jay Ricketson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 4 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Harris officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the charity of one's choice.
