William M. "Kenny" Brown, III

William M. "Kenny" Brown, III age 51, of Clarkesville, GA, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011, at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Born in Demorest, GA on April 20, 1960, he is the son of Lillie Mae Williams Kidd of Clarkesville and the late William McKinley Brown, II.

Mr. Brown was a native and life-long resident of Habersham County. He was very active in the community, serving in various areas, such as, Deacon, Trustee and choir member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he was a member. He was a librarian at Northeast Georgia Regional Library where he retired after 31 years of service. Following retirement he served, for a short period of time, as a Librarian at Piedmont College.

Survivors include wife, Wanda Scott Brown of Clarkesville; mother, Lillie Mae Williams Kidd of Clarkesville; son, Kenneth Christopher "K.C." (Regina) Brown of Greenville, SC; daughter, Cayla Nicely of Clarkesville; brothers, Steve and Eugene Brown both of Clarkesville; sisters, Pamela Brown of Clarkesville, Sandy (Bernard) Trimar of Clarkesville and Jackie (Earnest) Hunter of Alto; two grandchildren, Kenzel and Josiah Brown; mother-in-law, Amy Bell of Clarkesville; aunts, Emmaline Kidd of Atlanta and Martha Lee Smith of Clayton; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services are 11:00 am Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Clarkesville with Pastor Ben Hawks officiating. Interment will follow at Level Grove Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10:00 am on Saturday to lie in state until the funeral hour.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Friday.
