William Thomas Sedenger

William Thomas Sedenger, 85, of Cumming, GA passed away, Friday, August 26, 2011 at his residence. He was a United States Army veteran who served during World War II, and a member of the American Legion Post 307, where he was selected as Legionnaire of the year for 2006, he was also a member of VFW Post 9143. He was an avid fisherman and loved photography.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William T. and Bertha Sedenger and sister, Doris Hunter.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joann Sedenger of Cumming, GA; children, Thomas Michael Sedenger of Cumming, GA, Patricia Ann Scott of Wilmington, MA; guardian of niece and nephew, Carolyn Solomine of Summerville, N.J., Robert Mintzer of Freehold, N.J.; niece, Susan Schirmier of Cherry Hill, N. J.; nephew, Richard Hunter of New Jersey; granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Sedenger and several great nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 11:00 a.m at McDonald and Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Dwiggins officiating. Inurnment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA with Full Military Honors.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Legion Auxiliary Girl State.
