John Paul Coursey

John Paul Coursey, age 73 died Saturday, September 4, 2011 after a brief illness. Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 12 Noon at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Mr. Coursey will be cremated following the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 10, 2011 form 10 AM until noon at the funeral home. The family request in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Newborns in Need, Sugar Hill Chapter, 2659 Freedom Parkway #248, Cumming, GA 30041.

John is survived by his wife, Jan Coursey, Buford; daughters, Karon Jo Long and her husband Braden Craig, Sugar Hill, Sharon Kay Smith and her husband Keven J. Barry, Buford; Son Robert Charles Smith, Griffin; grandchildren, Kimberly Wehrman Schiavoni and her husband Mike, Richard Paul Smith, USN and his wife Chole, and Winston Tyler Smith; Two Nieces, Sandra Gail Atkinson, Savannah and Carol lee Olson, Marietta; Sister In-law and Brother In-law, Albert and Kaylynn Eckard, Douglasville; several other nieces and nephews.

Mr. Coursey was a Native of Lyons, GA and had lived in metro Atlanta the past 45 years. John was a barber at the Dunwoody Barber Shop for many years. He was active with Newborns in Need, Sugar Hill Chapter and a member of Sugar Hill United Methodist Church.
