Gertrude Inez Williams

Gertrude Inez Williams, 90 of Cumming, GA passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Embracing Hospice Center, Cumming, Ga. She was born in Gulfport, MS and moved to Cumming in 2002 from Winter Park, FL, where she had lived and worked since 1957. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Parks Hubbard Williams; parents, Earl Everette Rohrer and Esther Olivia Jordan Rohrer; and brother, Earl Jordan Rohrer.

Inez loved square dancing with her husband, Parks; summers at Daytona Beach, Florida at; playing Mexican Train with her friends at the Forsyth Senior Center; and playing the card games, Skip Bo and Pounce with her daughters. She had a special caregiver, Karen Higman for which she and her family are very grateful. During her years working in Orlando, Florida, she was an active member of the American Business Woman's Association, Gideon's, and Eastern Star. Inez instilled a strong work ethic in her two daughters. She was also a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Winter Park, Florida. After moving to Cumming, she joined the Forsyth Senior Center, where she met some wonderful people, made some new friends and joined the Cumming First United Methodist Church.

Inez is survived by her daughters: Jerry Suzanne Bryson and her husband Kenneth Roy Bryson of Cumming, GA; Tyra Inez Staltare and her husband Dean William Staltare of DeBary, FL; grandchildren, Suzanne Lynn Casagrande and her husband Scott Casagrande of Colorado Springs, CO, Joseph Doc Bryson of Atlanta, GA and Matthew Dean Staltare of Gainesville, FL; great- grandchild: Bryson Chase Casagrande; and two sisters-in-law, Elsie Rohrer and Fran Williams.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at McDonald & Son Funeral Home. As she wished, Inez will be cremated.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association (www.americanheart.org or 800.AHA.USA1) or to the AH Hospice Foundation (5775 Peachtree-Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, GA 30342).
