James Calvin Chastain

James Calvin Chastain, age 80 of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Chastain was born November 13, 1930 in Sautee to the late Sylvester and Floyd York Chastain. He spent his whole life in Cleveland and was a member of Chattahoochee Baptist Church. Mr. Chastain was preceded in death by his brother Barney Chastain.

Survivors include his wife, Urania Henderson Chastain, Cleveland; sons and daughters-in-law, James Rondal and Sheryl Stephens Chastain, Cleveland; Gregory Keith and Laura Turner Chastain, Gainesville; grandchildren, Chelsey Chastain Hogan, Cleveland; Jordan Gregory Chastain, Cleveland; brothers, Cosby Chastain, Clayton; Charles Chastain, Clarkesville; sister, Ann Chastain Carlyle, Cleveland.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2011 from Chattahoochee Baptist Church. The Rev. Chris Anderson, the Rev. Bill Gravely and the Rev. Dave Fortner will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
